Besides enjoying the privacy provided by a dense hedge, living fences also create shade and are great windbreakers. By blocking summer sun and winter winds, they improve both comfort and energy efficiency.

Not only do living fences provide year-round habitat for wildlife, they also absorb carbon and aid in reducing air pollution. As well, evergreen hedges provide visual interest, often changing subtly through the seasons.

Installing a hedge can often be done yourself, and are most often less expensive than contructing a wood or vinyl fence. With the proper site and a little care, living fences can also last far longer than manufactured ones.
This customer started their Thuja ‘Green Giant’ hedge with some of our 2 – 3 footers in 2022 and have come back for more each year since then. Looks like their living fence is filling in very nicely!
